Software I use, gadgets I love, and other things I recommend.

If you are interested in the softwares, gadgets and frameworks I use, you are in the right place.

Workstation

  • 16” MacBook Pro, M1 Max, 16GB RAM (2021)

My life changed when I got this machine. I’ve never had a laptop that could handle the kind of work I do without sounding like a jet engine.

  • 55” Samsung Odyssey Ark

I know that's a huge monitor, but I love it. I can have 4 windows open and close my laptop' lid.

  • 13” iPad Pro, M2 Chip, 2022

I use this for reading, gaming, and sometimes as a second screen. Apple’s Universal Control is the best, if you haven’t tried it, you definitely should.

Development tools

  • Visual Studio Code

VsCode has never disappointed me, so I keep using it. I love the rich library of extensions. I use the GitHub Copilot, just like everyone else.

  • Vim

I use the Vim extension for VsCode. Vim makes writing code lightning fast.

  • iTerm2 + Oh My Zsh

If you want a nice looking terminal with code completion, this is the way to go.

  • DataGrip

I use this for managing my databases. It not free, but it's worth it. Previously I used PhpMyAdmin.

Video Editing

  • Blue Yeti Mic

Not the best mic, but it gets the job done. I use it to record voiceovers for my YouTube videos.

  • Adobe Premiere

I do all of my video editing in Premiere. Before this, I used LumaFusion on my iPad.

  • Descript

I use Descript to edit my voiceovers. I can’t upload my voice without adding a Compressor effect to it.

Productivity

  • Notion

I use Notion for all of my notes.

  • Focus

Simple tool for blocking distracting websites when I need to just do the work and get some momentum going.
